TRADE-IN GUIDE FOR POKÉMON CARDS
To properly evaluate cards, they must be scanned using the TCGPlayer app. This process requires that all cards be removed from binders and/or sleeves. Offers are made based on the current TCGPlayer market value. We do not use PriceCharting, eBay comps, or any other method to determine card value. Cards worth $8.00 or more will receive offers of 30% - 60% of their value. Please read below for a breakdown of how that offer is calculated.
CARDS VALUED AT $8.00 OR MORE
Cards with a base value of $8.00 or more fall into three price brackets:
$8.00 - $19.99
Cards in this value bracket will receive:
30% for cash offers
$20.00 - $199.99
Cards in this value bracket will receive:
35% for cash offers, scales to 60%
$200.00+
Cards in this value bracket will receive:
60% for cash offers
For store-credit trades, the cash offer will be calculated and then multiplied by 1.20
CONDITION
Cards also fall into 5 conditions. The closer the card is to mint condition, the higher your offer will be!
Damaged
Heavily Played
Moderately Played
Lightly Played
Near Mint
Condition is up to the discretion of Press Start
GRADED CARDS
PSA 9s and 10s will be priced out using PriceCharting and will receive offers of 30%-50% value. All other graded cards will be priced out with their comparable ungraded condition using TCGPlayer and receive the applicable offers in their price brackets.
SEALED ITEMS
We accept sealed product (booster boxes, ETBs, collector sets, etc.) with the exception of individual booster packs. We offer 40%-60% value for sealed products. Value determined by average eBay sales.
CARDS VALUED AT $7.99 OR LESS
Cards with a base value of $8.00 or less fall into four price brackets:
$0.01 - $1.99
Cards in this value bracket will receive:
$0.05 per card first 50 cards
$0.01 per every 2 cards remaining
Bulk energy and trainer cards will not be given any offer
$2.00 - $3.99
Cards in this value bracket will receive:
$0.35 per card
$4.00 - $5.99
Cards in this value bracket will receive:
$0.75 per card
$6.00 - $7.99
Cards in this value bracket will receive:
$1.25 per card
For store-credit trades, the cash offer will be calculated and then multiplied by 1.20
If our offer is not accepted, we will re-sleeve all cards. We will keep cards protected while in holding, but will not re-insert cards into any binders. You will have space provided to re-insert cards when you return for pickup. Please let us know if you would like your cards kept in any particular way pending offer and/or pickup.
You are welcome to wait in the store while we process your trade. You may also leave your contact info and we will reach out when we are done. For a full binder, the average processing time is 1.5-2 hours. If there is not enough time remaining in the day to finish your trade, it will be held overnight and continued the next business day. Please make it known if you do not wish for your trade to be held over night before dropping it off.
